in Nepal. |

According
to a report, released by Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), 62
people were killed by security forces
whereas 13 died in the hands of Maoists.
A
total of 75 people were killed by both
the state and Maoists during the three
month period of the Maoists' unilateral ceasefire from September 3 to December
2, 2005.
The
Maoists abducted 8,777 people,
mostly teachers and students during the three-month long ceasefire. |

Nepalese Army (RNA) said Maoists killed 19
people and abducted
4013 others across the country after the
announcement of their so-called unilateral ceasefire on September
3, 2005.
The
army had killed 46 Maoists
and lost 6 of its soldiers in
the same periode. |

King Gyanendra took over direct rule of Nepal six months ago on 1
February 2005, at least 1,115
people have been killed according to a
report published by INSEC, a local human rights group. The report
says 738have
died at the hands of the state and 377,
including both civilians and security personnel,
have
been killed by Maoist rebels. |

spokesman Gen. Brig. Gurung said in a press briefing that 4,463 4,463
Maoists rebels have been killed so far
since the rebels backed out of the dialogue process and breached the cease-fire
agreement in August 2003. The army suspects 860
more rebels were killed during the period.

RNA soldiers have been killed in the same period. |
