Absence
of the government, presence of Maomen
|
Nepal
is burning with the Maoist problem.
|
|
The
Nepali Congress is in the government and Nepali Congress activists are
being killed more or less everyday by Maoists. |
|
The country is burning with
the Maoist problemhe Maoists are enjoying the opportunity of expanding
and enhancing their strength from west to the east.
The
Maoists are everywhere
|
|
The
daily and weekly newspapers are publishing Maoist-related news every day.
The underground Maoist insurgents are the talk of the town. Local people
say that Maoists are doing good work. They are punishing notorious people
in the society. Maoists gave punishment to a girl-trafficker. Also, they
caught timber smugglers, seized the timber and handed over that to a school. |
They forcefully stopped Sanskrit course and singing the national anthem
in government and private schools.
Instead
of our national anthem, they have introduced a popular national song authored
by Madhab Ghimire "Gauncha geet Nepali jyotiko pankha uchali, jai, jai,
jai Nepal, sundara shanta vishal" (Nepalese sing the song rising light
high; great, great and great Nepal - beautiful, peace and the great!)
In Jhapa, even the private schools have started singing the national song
discarding the national anthem. Feudal class in the society is bound to
pay compulsory donation to Maoists. The Maoists are developing base
areas in eastern hills and the terai too.
Assuming
the Maoist rule!
Intellectuals
in the capital talk about Maoists with keen interest. Their opipion is
that the Maoists are doing better than the present government. If
Maoists go forward in the present speed of walk, within five years, they
will capture the country. They further assume: "In the People's Democratic
Republic of Nepal, Comrade Prachanda (newly appointed Chairman of the Central
Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoists)). Dr. Baburam Bhattarai
may be the prime minister at that time. The "great enemies" India, America
and other European countries will not recognise their rule here. Also,
Maoists will not seek recognition from these countries; nevertheless, they
wish recognition at least from China and North Korea.
