Bumthang
The Bumthang region has four major valleys: Choskhor, Tang, Ura and Chumey (Chhume). The Dzongkhag administration, the major dzongs and temples are in the large Choskhor valley. The new Bumthang regional airport would comprise of an airstrip of 1,200 m, an apron, a taxiway and a terminal building. By March 2010, land should be acquired and demarcated and airport construction should begin by December 2010.

Chamkhar town (Jakar) ist major tourist hot spot in the area and trading center of the region. Most of the hotels and services are found here. Nearby Kurje Lhakhang , Jambey Lhakhang and the Jakar Dzong are frequently visited by tourists.

The government is constructing a new road connection between Yotong La (3245 m) in the west of Choskhor and Thrumsing La (3799 m) in the east. The Nangar-Ura bypass highway is 32 km long.
