Olympic archers receive cash award
Prime Minister Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba awards a cash prize to archer Tashi Peljor (background right Tshering Choden)

As a gesture of appreciation for their credible performance in the Athens Olympiad, Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba awarded cash prizes of Nu. 25,000 each to archers Tshering Choden and Tashi Peljor. National archery coach Karma Dechog was also awarded a cash prize of Nu 10,000.

The prime minister said that the two archers did the country proud with their impressive performance. He said their spirits should not be deterred but they should aim higher and bring home medals in their next venture.

After an impressive first round victory, Tshering Choden and Tashi Peljor who were ranked 54th and 52nd of the 64 archers were eliminated in the second round of the 70-metre individual archery competition.
